This article presents a review of the anatomy and physiology of the lower urinary tract, types of neurogenic bladders, assessment of the patient, and nursing management of the neurogenic bladder. Included are patient teaching instructions for related procedures and an example of a patient recording sheet for intermittent catheterization.
