Speech-language pathology and the cerebrovascular accident: A practical approach

This article gives a brief overview of communication and how it relates to the patient who has experienced a cerebrovascular accident (CVA). The article provides checklists to aid in identifying communication and swallowing deficits. The need for an interdisciplinary approach to the care of the CVA patient is stressed.
