The infusion of dobutamine in the home for the treatment of congestive heart failure represents a new challenge. The authors present a review of the drug information, a simplified overview of hemodynamic concepts, a drug conversion guide, results of selected dobutamine studies, nursing care plans, nursing diagnoses, and a case study showing the positive results that are attainable.
