The role of the home health care nurse in mental health assessment of the elderly

With factors such as chronic illness, change in social contacts, and the death of a spouse or close friend, the elderly patient may have a depression that could be overlooked. The symptoms may be thought to be part of the normal aging process. The author's suggestions will be helpful in dealing with the elderly on any level of health care delivery.
