Improving Symptom Management at the End of Life in the Home Care Environment

Symptom management for terminal or end-of-life patients in the home environment is an important quality-of-life issue. Providers in home care have a responsibility to evaluate the quality of their symptom management and make changes as necessary to meet patient needs and national guidelines. This article explores some of the specific challenges seen in the home care environment and makes suggestions for addressing these challenges.
