The Nurse in the HouseProgressive Care Unit At Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas This is a personal reflection by a nurse caring for her husband with hepatitis and undergoing a liver transplant. This provides a focus from the caregiver perspective, as well as from a professional nurse's perspective into giving Restoring Life Care to a loved one. Restoring Life Care is inclusive of and involves being in relationship with one's Lord. Daily reflection and meditation and prayer for self and the loved one is emphasized as the strategy that creates the atmosphere for restoring the loved one's health. This strategy most supported the caregiver through this process. This article also provides insight into the needs of the nurse caregiver facing the role of primary care giver for maintaining and restoring health care of a loved one.
