What is Private-Duty Home Care? An Industry Overview

This article examines the private-duty model of care. It explains the types of home care and reviews payment sources, and how long-term-care insurance covers private-pay home care. The article covers the various models within private-pay home care, examines how the care is directed and managed, and gives information about who provides the care within the various models. Finally, the article reviews the troubling issues within the private-duty industry and reflects on the pitfalls of home care.
